Established in 2024, Riley Martin Landscape and Garden is a horticulturally driven Landscape Design + Build firm, dedicated to creating thoughtful elegance throughout the Southeast. Rooted in a passion for plants, RML+G implements horticulturally and ecologically significant designs based upon Client preferences, architectural style, and a research oriented understanding of the land. Having designed and installed projects ranging from the Pacific Palisades of California, the Golden Isles of Georgia and the Appalachian Mountains, RML+G is well prepared to assist with various site conditions, unique plant palettes, and skillfully crafted hardscape elements.
A native of Gainesville, Georgia, Riley Martin is the Principal Landscape Designer and Lead Horticulturalist for Riley Martin Landscape and Garden. Growing up camping on the Appalachian Trail, fishing the shores of the Golden Isles, and hiking National Parks out West, Riley has been immersed in the natural world since childhood. As an Eagle Scout and enthusiastic gardener, Riley quickly began studying plants and their impact within the landscape. Attending the University of Georgia and under the guidance of his late older brother, Knox Martin, Riley began his studies within the College of Environment and Design. Riley earned his Bachelors of Landscape Architecture in 2021 and his Masters of Landscape Architecture in 2023, both from the University of Georgia. While conducting his thesis research, Evaluating the Environmental and Ornamental Significance of Scarlet Sage (Salvia coccinea) through Mutagenic Chromosomal Doubling Studies, Riley worked alongside renowned Horticulturalist and Plant Breeder Dr. John Ruter, Allan M. Armitage Professor and the University of Georgia Trial Gardens Director. Riley and Dr. Ruter successfully created novel cultivars of Salvia spp. through the mutagenic studies. Riley’s work has been published and has been presented at the American Society for Horticultural Sciences Annual Conference. Riley and our crew members are eager to assist our Clients in achieving their goals and preferences for their specific Landscape Design + Build needs.
